Understand the numbers
The Crypto Profit Calculator compares what you paid for a position with what that position would be worth at a sale or current price. Optional buy and sell fees help produce a more realistic estimate of the outcome.
Calculation method
The calculation starts with purchase cost, adds estimated buy fees, then compares that total with sale proceeds after estimated sell fees. ROI is the resulting profit or loss divided by the total amount invested.
Example
Example: if you buy 1,000 coins at $0.50 each, your starting purchase cost is $500 before fees. If the sale price later reaches $0.80, the gross position value is $800 before any selling costs.
Useful checks
- Enter fee percentages that match the platform you actually use.
- Use current price as the sale price when checking an unrealized position.
- Break-even price helps show how far the asset must move before costs are recovered.
